The popularity of CBD oil is rising day by day because of its incredible properties. CBD is one of the most prominent cannabinoids extracted from hemp. Unlike its cousin, THC, it does not cause the same psychoactive effects. CBD has the ability to interact with the endocannabinoid system in the body. The endocannabinoid system maintains overall stability and homeostasis by carrying out various physiological functions.
If you’re a stranger to the ever-growing oil, then, let's take a quick look at different delivery methods of CBD oil.
WHAT IS CBD?
Before we understand how we use CBD, we must understand what CBD is. CBD stands for cannabidiol, and it’s a chemical compound found within the hemp plant. CBD is extracted from industrial hemp plants, meaning CBD won’t make you feel high. Click here to see our full range of CBD oils.
HOW TO USE CBD OIL?
CBD can be consumed in various different ways. Commonly CBD is taken through a tincture, placed underneath the tongue, and then swallowed. But, you can also find CBD in capsule form, topicals, and there is even CBD for your pets!
Quite a new phenomenon, CBD capsules have made their way on the scene. Here at Celtic Wind, we have really explored the various avenues of CBD capsules and brought to life an entire new food supplement range of CBD capsules. Celtic Wind’s new CBD capsules are called the Synergy range. The Synergy range includes Canna-Curcumin, Canna-Mag, and Canna-Sea. Each of the capsule range features additional properties to CBD like magnesium citrate in our Canna-Mag - one of the easiest forms of magnesium for the body to absorb. Our Synergy Canna-Sea includes a blend of Irish sea kelp, organically sourced from the West Coast of Ireland. Canna-Curcumin is made from hemp powder, turmeric and black pepper. We have everything you need at Celtic Wind when it comes to CBD capsules and choice. Click here to check our CBD capsule range out.
INGESTION
Oral CBD products such as capsules and tinctures are some of the most common ways to intake CBD oil. Ingested cannabinoids have to pass through the metabolic pathway from where they are absorbed in the intestine and sent to the liver. This is known as the endocannabinoid system. On its way to the liver, CBD will interact with the CB2 receptors of the endocannabinoid system.
SUBLINGUAL ABSORPTION
The thin blood vessels under our tongue and along the cheeks allow quick absorption of a CBD dose. You can easily put a few drops of your desired dose under the tongue or along the cheeks and wait for at least one minute before swallowing it. Our tincture bottles are produced in Miron glass bottles. Miron glass is a biophotonic glass packaging that protects natural products from harmful UV rays. The use of this glass helps protect the product.
INHALATION
When CBD oil is inhaled through the lungs, it is sent directly to the brain even before being metabolized by the liver which is why inhalation is the fastest method for quickest results. CBD flowers can be smoked or vaporized. Vaping is considered a safer option than smoking and it offers better absorption. However, it is recommended to go for high-quality vaporizers which may not break down the additives into carcinogens and harm the lungs.
TOPICAL APPLICATION
CBD products such as rubs, lotions, creams, and balms can be used topically. They get absorbed into the skin and joints once applied to the area. Topicals are highly sought after for producing localized effects and offer relief from decentralized discomfort and uneasiness caused by skin health problems. Our skin has its own endocannabinoid receptors which interact with CBD and other cannabinoids present.
We have a wide range of topical balms and skincare products here at Celtic Wind. We have two variations of a muscle balm (300mg & 600mg CBD), CBD body oil, and a staff favourite, our CBD lip balm. When people are first venturing on their CBD journey, they tend to begin with topical-type products. Click here to see if they are the right fit for you.
CBD DOSE CALCULATION
Interestingly, even though CBD is quite popular among people from different walks of life, there is no consensus on how much CBD is right for each person as everyone is different. There is no universal CBD dose that will work for everyone because CBD is a personal experience, and your experience depends on your body chemistry and your CBD tolerance.
It is recommended that you take breaks from the product 3 to 4 times per year.

WRAP UP
Even though CBD is safe and is known to not cause any severe side effects, it is recommended to consult your Healthcare practitioner before taking CBD.
