WHY IS TESTING IMPORTANT?

The industry is still very much in its infancy and as more hemp-related markets hit the market it’s important for consumers to be able to trust and understand what exactly they are buying.

Why is testing important?

When it comes to CBD, the industry is still very much in its infancy. And as more hemp-related products hit the market, it's important for you to be able to trust and understand exactly what you’re buying.

Building trust

The first, and possibly most important, test run on a hemp product is the cannabinoid yield test. This test tells you how much of each cannabinoid is included in the full spectrum product. This is how you know whether or not a product is telling you the truth when it says a certain amount of CBD is included with each dose. On top of knowing how much CBD is included, you’ll see amounts of CBG, THC, and more.

Our testing procedure

Our products are routinely tested to an ISO17025 international standard for testing cannabinoids in a laboratory in Ireland. The results are then independently verified by a laboratory in the US.

One of the techniques the laboratory uses in testing is called Solid Phase Micro Extraction (SPME) and is leading the field when it comes to Cannabinoid analysis. It enables full-spectrum analysis of compounds found naturally occurring in hemp, which includes CBD levels. We also test for microbial content to make sure our products are safe.

Test certification

We contract the Irish Laboratory, JHG Analytical Services Limited, to provide independent Laboratory Analysis for our Multi Complex Hemp CBD products.

We’ve permitted JHG Analytical Services to view all of our processes and production techniques and they have visited us at our facility in Dundalk where we create the product. This provides JHG with a comprehensive understanding of our techniques, which are entirely bespoke and pioneered by our company. JHG has full confidence in what we do and how we do it. This includes the subsequent sample preparation programme and analytical data that is generated, as well as consistently providing a high level of validity.

A sample lab report

As an independent contract laboratory, we are contracted to several blue-chip organisations and are involved in training and educating other laboratory staff and managers within the industry.

The standard of testing for Celtic Wind Crops is to a level where it allows us to consistently achieve recovery ratios of the order of 90-95%, where validity of any test in this area would require a recovery of the order of >85%.

JHG Services has recorded impressive results for Cannabidiol (CBD), Cannabigerol (CBG), Cannabichromene (CBC) and the acidic forms of these Cannabinoids, without having exceeded the Limit of Detention (LOD) for Delta-9-THC and THC-A. Alongside a precise Cannabinoid profile, JHG continuously reports high levels of Terpenes, Polyphenols, Amino Acids, and other nutrients. Products are also routinely checked for Heavy Metals, Pesticide/Herbicide Residues and Aflatoxins/Mycotoxins and also a full Microbiological suite of analysis to ensure that they are fit for human consumption.
